About the Role:

National Services Scotland (NSS) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic public health consultant to contribute to the national coordination of Scotland's six national screening programmes. The post is located in Screening Oversight and Assurance Scotland (SOAS) within the Clinical Directorate and is offered on a part-time basis for 6 Programmed Activities or 24 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the national coordination of Scotland's six national screening programmes.
  • Work with the Screening Oversight and Assurance Scotland (SOAS) team to ensure the effective delivery of screening services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including NHS Boards and other national screening programme teams.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on screening-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Membership of the Faculty of Public Health or equivalent.
  • Registration on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council in Public Health with a licence to practise, or on the UK Public Health (Specialist) Register.
  • Substantial experience of working at consultant level within national screening programmes.
