Position Overview

Mencap is in search of dedicated and empathetic individuals to fill the role of Support Worker in our Long Eaton services. This position is exclusively for female candidates, as per the requirements of the service.

As a Support Worker, you will have the unique opportunity to significantly impact the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. Your role will involve working closely with a diverse group of individuals, each presenting their own distinct abilities and needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities and provide emotional support.
  • Foster meaningful relationships through excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain a positive and empathetic approach towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Contract Options:

  • Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
  • Part-time: Flexible hours based on availability

Shift Patterns:

Our services operate 24 hours a day, and we prepare rotas at least four weeks in advance, allowing you to manage your personal and social commitments effectively.

  • Day shifts: Between 07:00 and 22:00

Additionally, there is an opportunity for sleep-in shifts, which offer an enhanced flat rate payment.

Requirements:

  • All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
  • This position is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, and is open to female applicants only.
