About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join the Devices Hardware Engineering team at Roku. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware solutions for our streaming devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complete electrical systems, including BOM, schematics, and PCBs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Software, Mechanical Engineering, and Program Management
  • Select components based on performance, reliability, availability, cost, environmental, and manufacturing requirements
  • Plan and lead validation of designs
  • Support factory builds, including factory testing, failure analysis, and on-site support as needed
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hardware engineering experience in embedded system design
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Track record of shipping high-volume consumer electronic products
  • Solid experience working with JDMs/ODMs/OEMs/CMs
  • Proficient with OrCAD design suite (Altium/Mentor PADS)
  • In-depth knowledge of PCB layout requirements and design rules
  • Strong technical skills, including schematic design, high-speed signal propagation, DDR interfaces, power delivery, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, thermal analysis, ESD, and audio subsystems
  • Comfortable with tools such as high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, audio analyzers, and thermal chambers
  • Ability to write low-level test software for HW validation (nice to have)
