Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs school. As a SEN Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with varied Special Educational Needs.

This is a full-time position, working 5 days a week. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN. You will be confident in undertaking work to the EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculums.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support pupils with SEN in a classroom setting, providing individualized attention and assistance as needed.
  2. Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with SEN.
  3. Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g., NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3).
  • Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an SEN setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of the full curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with colleagues, parents, and guardians.
