Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join our accounts department in Grantham. As Finance Assistant, you will carry out general, cost, or sub-ledger accounting activities for a defined scope. This role will report into the Management Accountant.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the completion of cost and values for each contract on a weekly basis and producing weekly/monthly volume reports for Business Unit Managers.
  2. Use Excel and accounting systems to process sales invoices and produce monthly management accounts.
  3. Consolidate and analyze results, carrying out sub-ledger accounting; accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset accounting, cash flow entry, etc.
  4. Manage inventory postings and provide assistance in the management of contract and customer files, monitoring and controlling invoicing and at-risk customers.

The Ideal Candidate

You will need to be a flexible, enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills, and an eye for detail that allows you to improve processes and make the department run smoothly. Experience in a similar role and familiarity with accountancy systems are essential.
