Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bone Densitometry Technician to join our team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for providing specialized technical support in Bone Densitometry, involving a broad range of complex technical work, both routine and non-routine.

Main Responsibilities

As a Bone Densitometry Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating the Hologic Horizon-A QDR Scanner to perform DEXA scans for diagnosis and monitoring of osteoporosis.
  • Providing technical support and assistance to patients and staff as needed.
  • Ensuring accurate and efficient scanning procedures, while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BTEC (CNC) or equivalent qualification.
  • Completion of the National Training Scheme in Bone Densitometry.
  • Experience working as a Radiographer/Technician in Bone Densitometry.
