ALS International is seeking a highly skilled Inclusive Designer Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all built environments are accessible, welcoming, and usable by people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:- Design & Planning: Collaborate with architects, urban planners, and engineers to design spaces that are inclusive and accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities, older adults, and families.
- Project Management: Work with project managers to integrate inclusive design practices throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through construction and post-occupancy.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with developers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to advocate for inclusive design practices and ensure adherence to accessibility requirements.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all projects comply with relevant accessibility laws, standards, and guidelines, including ADA, ANSI, and local building codes.
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. A Master's degree in Inclusive Design or a related discipline is a plus.
- +5 years of experience in design, internal fit-outs, architectural design, or construction, with a focus on inclusive design and accessibility.
- Proven experience in the real estate sector, with a portfolio demonstrating successful inclusive design projects.
- Proficiency in interior/ architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards, universal design principles, and building codes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
