About the Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in light vehicle maintenance and repair. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians to learn the latest techniques and technologies in the industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance and repair of light vehicles, including routine servicing and diagnostic work
• Work with a range of tools and equipment, including diagnostic software and specialized machinery
• Develop your skills in areas such as brake and suspension repair, engine tuning, and electrical systems
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date with industry advancements

Qualifications and Training

As part of this apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to gain a range of qualifications, including:

• Level 2 VCQ Diploma in Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Competence
• Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles
• Essential Communication Skills
• Essential Application of Number Skills
• Essential Digital Literacy Skills

Requirements and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A real desire to pursue a career in the automotive industry
• Prior experience in the industry, either as a hobby or formal training, is desirable
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components

Training and Support

You will receive comprehensive training and support throughout your apprenticeship, including:

• On-the-job training with experienced technicians
• Off-the-job training at the XR Training Centre in Pyle
• Ongoing coaching and mentoring to help you achieve your goals
