Job Summary

The Outpatients Department Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Outpatients Department, ensuring the smooth operation of the department and providing excellent customer service to patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Outpatients Department, including clerical duties, data entry, and filing.
  • Deal with patient queries and provide information on Outpatients Department services and procedures.
  • Ensure that patient records are accurate and up-to-date, and that all relevant charges are loaded onto Maxims in a timely manner.
  • Communicate directly with patients and deal with patient queries in respect of their OPD appointments.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Deal appropriately, professionally and efficiently with all communications, queries and visitors to the department area.
  • Liaise with staff in other departments, the public and outside agencies in a confidential, courteous and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation pertinent to patient information.
  • Knowledge of Maxims EPR system.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
