Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Manpower UK Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant in Southend.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical assets, including mould and power presses, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and ancillary equipment.
  • Provide engineering solutions when immediate spares are not available, including retrofitting, reverse engineering, or modifying equipment.
  • Work in line with maintenance technicians and best practices, complying with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance call-outs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection logs.
  • Assist in outage planning, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Supervise contracted labour when on site.
  • Support and mentor apprentices.
Requirements:
  • Apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical engineering field.
  • Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC-controlled plant, and associated equipment.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving production environment.
  • Willingness to undertake additional specific plant training.
