About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Principal Lecturer to join our Acting department at BIMM Institute. As a key member of our academic team, you will provide leadership and expertise in teaching, curriculum development, and student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and lead modules in Acting, ensuring high-quality delivery and student engagement.
- Develop and implement innovative digital initiatives to enhance student learning experiences.
- Assess and support student work, providing academic guidance and pastoral care.
- Collaborate with the Course Leader to enhance the student learning experience and contribute to curriculum development.
- Represent the Acting department in governance and quality platforms, supporting student recruitment efforts.
- Engage in professional development, scholarly activity, and research to maintain expertise and contribute to the academic community.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in the creative industries, with a significant profile in Acting.
- A good undergraduate degree or equivalent Higher Education or professional qualification, and a teaching qualification relevant to Higher Education or a Fellowship of Advance HE.
- Experience developing initiatives to enhance student participation and engagement, and supporting students academically and pastorally.
- Proven experience in effective and innovative curriculum and teaching development activities.
- Understanding of quality and standards in higher education and creative arts contexts.
- Demonstrable impact on improving teaching quality and successful student outcomes.
- Ability to use data to improve student outcomes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
