About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Technologist to join our team at Nelsons. As a key member of our innovation team, you will be responsible for creating and delivering packaging solutions that drive business growth and meet our brand portfolio's needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of innovative packaging solutions for our brand portfolio, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with the Global Innovation Team to translate innovation concepts into clear product and packaging briefs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner with R&D, supply chain, and external suppliers to develop exceptional products that meet our NPD briefs and iterate prototypes to ensure consumer delight.
  • Attend first-off production or print runs at our manufacturing sites and at suppliers as required, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Develop shelf-ready packaging (SRP) and counter-top display units (CDU) that meet brand design and production capabilities, driving sales and customer engagement.
  • Support the artwork team with timely approvals and advice on materials and print quality, ensuring consistency and excellence.
  • Provide technical guidance on all packaging-related matters, advising on packaging trends, sustainability, and waste management to drive business growth.
  • Ensure all projects align with Nelsons' ESG agenda, driving positive impact and sustainability.
  • Manage, maintain, and update all specifications for packaging, logistics (pallet plans), and technical drawings across the organization, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Relevant packaging development experience in Pharma, Cosmetics, Toiletries, or FMCG, with a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions.
  • Passion for innovation and the implementation of new concepts and products, with a focus on driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Established working relationships with suppliers and industry experts within the Packaging industry, with a strong network and influence.
  • Experience in measuring packaging performance on production lines and quality control, with a focus on efficiency and quality.
