About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Saffron Vantage Ltd. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in producing accurate cost plans and pricing for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce cost plans from RIBA stage 0 to stage 3, ideally with the ability to price from first principles.
  • Take-off from drawings using Autodesk Design Review to produce detailed cost plans and quantity checks.
  • Lead the tender enquiry process and allocate elemental BQ items into works packages.
  • Subcontractor comparisons and identifying scope gaps.
  • Work with the supply chain to provide value engineering options.
  • Pricing of site preliminaries and providing information on key risks and opportunities at tender settlement.
  • Use BCIS data to elementally benchmark, TPIs for inflation forecasting and rebasing with location factorisation.
  • Pricing competitive tenders under the direction of the estimating director.
  • Review contract and other commercial data, attend client meetings, and present tender information to project teams.
  • Review tender documents prior to pricing and complete 'Enquiry Checklist' to determine pricing level.
  • Take off groundwork's packages, complete 'Risk and Opportunity' Registers, and liaise with buying department to obtain material quotations.
  • Pricing groundworks on Labour, Plant and Materials basis for Pre-Construction Managers review, tender adjudication with Commercial Director, and pricing variations and additions.
  • Create material lists and obtain and compare quotations, conduct site visits, and demonstrate a strong work ethic throughout their career.
Requirements
  • Good organisation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, with experience with Causeway and Excel estimating software desired.
  • Excellent spoken and written English, with a good, clear telephone manner essential for client interface.
  • Strong numeracy skills with the ability to think commercially, team player, ability to work under pressure, and strong time management skills.
