The Plant Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of the plant. This includes identifying areas for improvement and implementing maintenance strategies to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hydraulic systems, machinery, and pneumatics, as well as experience working in heavy industry. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing maintenance plans to ensure plant availability and reliability
  • Conducting regular equipment inspections and performing routine maintenance tasks
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Providing technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies

Requirements for this position include:

  • Apprenticeship served as a mechanical maintenance engineer/mechanical engineer
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in heavy industry
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, machinery, and pneumatics
  • Knowledge of test piece furnaces and laboratory testing equipment
  • Competent in AutoCAD and/or Inventor design software
