The Opportunity

We're looking for a dedicated and skilled Group Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Manchester, UK. As a key member of our SHE Department, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Group Standards Manager, ensure all health and safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are followed.
  • Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and collaborate with the SHE Department to ensure compliance with health and safety laws across all regions.
  • Investigate and report incidents to the CEO and Group Standards Manager.
  • Conduct risk assessments for high-risk tasks, provide SHE inductions, and perform housekeeping inspections and audits.
  • Review RAMS and conduct contractor inductions as needed, working closely with the SHEQ Department to update and introduce new health and safety policies.

Requirements

  • A HNC qualification or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • A NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety or equivalent/higher.
  • At least 5 years of recent, relevant experience in a similar role.
  • A good understanding of health and safety law and legislation.
  • Knowledge of CDM, LOLER, PUWER, Electricity at Work Act, and Gas Safety Regulations.
  • Experience in creating policies and risk assessments.
  • Knowledge or experience of ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence.
