About the Role

Pink Tile Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) support worker to join our dynamic team at a specialist SEND school. The ideal candidate will work with secondary-aged students who have autism and related special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support to secondary-aged students with autism and related SEND needs, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Manage challenging behaviour in accordance with school policies and behaviour management strategies, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build trusting relationships with students, helping them engage in learning and reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create tailored learning and support plans, addressing the diverse and changing needs of students.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being, encouraging students to overcome barriers to learning and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Experience working with children who have SEND, particularly those with autism or similar needs.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to working with young people who may display challenging behaviours.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and external partners.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the diverse and changing needs of students.
  • A passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
