Handle Recruitment is working with an accountancy firm that specializes in post-production, film, and TV clients. We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join their team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to assist with financial tasks, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and payroll. The ideal candidate will have experience with Excel and double-entry bookkeeping, as well as strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Enter purchase orders and accounts payable in PSL / SmartAccounting / Eclipse
- Manage digital filing systems, including DocuSign, Nitro PDF, and studio-specific platforms like Box, Dropbox, and Google Drive
- Run payrolls and timecards with Sargent Disc/EP/TPH
- Assist with VAT return filings and ONS Surveys
- Make payment runs on bank accounts
- Manage tasks on Microsoft Teams
- Work dynamically across multiple projects, tracking progress, and providing quick, insightful status updates on request
- Experience in the media/entertainment industry or production/post-production accounting is a plus
- Strong bookkeeping skills, experience in management accounts, and confidence using Excel
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience assisting with external audits is useful
