Job Summary

Talent Finder is seeking a skilled Pattern/Model Maker to join our team in Maidstone, Kent. As a key member of our workshop, you will work closely with the design team, painters/finishers, inspection, and project management team to deliver high-quality models and patterns.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have hands-on mechanical engineering experience, applying their skills to working with various materials such as steel, aluminum, model board, plywood, and other sheet materials. Experience in model making/building, carpentry/joinery would also be considered, and on-site training will be offered for any necessary skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the design team to understand project requirements and develop models and patterns.
  • Apply mechanical engineering skills to create high-quality models and patterns using various materials.
  • Collaborate with painters/finishers, inspection, and project management teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Work off-site to install and commission work, including occasional international travel.
  • Participate in overtime opportunities to meet production deadlines.

Requirements

  • Hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
  • Ability to work with various materials, including steel, aluminum, model board, plywood, and other sheet materials.
  • Experience in model making/building or carpentry/joinery an advantage.
  • Good understanding of engineering practices, including reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.
  • Computer literacy an advantage.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary of £29,000 - £31,000 per annum, plus overtime.
