Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Verto People is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth. As a key member of the design and development team, you will play a crucial role in the creation of innovative solutions for the maritime industry.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and experience with major CAD systems, including NX. You will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems from concept to production, working closely with top industry experts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to generate and refine design concepts
- Work on a variety of projects, from large-scale fabricated structures to one-off prototypes
- Take a leading role in significant programs or manage smaller projects
- Deliver the design of components and systems in line with company processes and standards
- Serve as a technical liaison with customers, suppliers, manufacturing teams, and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Marine or Aerospace Engineering
- Extensive experience with a major CAD System (preferably NX)
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Experience in designing both metallic and composite components
- Deep knowledge of materials, welding, bonding, and fastening techniques
