About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our team as a Curator of Western Australian History Collections. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the development, documentation, management, and interpretation of our collection.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will also possess strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the documentation and management of History collections, including conducting research and developing public programmes related to Western Australian social history.
  • Manage collection stores using Museum database systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is maintained.
  • Facilitate access to History collections and information, providing exceptional customer service to visitors and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop exhibitions and public programmes, contributing to the overall success of the Museum.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. History, Museum Studies, Arts Management)
  • Proven experience in a similar role or relevant industry
  • Strong knowledge of Museum practices and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment

Salary: $76,425 to $100,605 per annum

Location: Welshpool, WA
