Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to fill the role of Charge Nurse in our Outpatient Department at Gartnavel General Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of nurses in the Outpatient Department, promoting and providing high standards of quality care.
- Supervise qualified and unqualified staff, as well as students, to ensure they are meeting the required standards.
- Ensure appropriate learning opportunities are met for all staff, encouraging best practice to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Evidence continuous professional development and contribute to education and audit within the department.
- Be supported by our Clinical Nurse Educator.
- A highly motivated, organised individual with excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- A good understanding and knowledge of policy, procedures, and national targets to support the team.
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse for clinical guidance and professional management. They will also deputise for the SCN, providing clear leadership to junior staff and covering in the absence of the senior charge nurse where required.
This is a full-time post with various hours currently worked over Monday to Friday.
