CNC Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Factory Operative to join our client in the Crewkerne area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading trade moulding company in the South West region.
Job Role and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for preparing materials, loading them into the mould, starting the machine cycle, and performing quality checks on the final products. Additionally, they will participate in the material cutting process for a specific rail contract, which involves using a semi-automatic cutting bench.
- Start the machine cycle by pushing the appropriate buttons.
- Monitor the machine during operation to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Perform any manual adjustments as needed during the cycle.
- Ensure all products meet the required quality standards before packing.
- Report any issues or non-conformities to the Production Supervisor.
- Ensure the work area is clean and free of hazards.
- Work both day and night shifts as required.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to work with manual and semi-automatic machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Please note that the factory operates on a 4-day week, Monday to Thursday. The day shift runs from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute paid breaks. The night shift starts at 6:45 am and attracts a 25% shift premium.
