About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Nissan Motor. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice on a wide range of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, engineering and construction contracts, and outsourcing arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal support for ad hoc matters, including third-party claims, regulatory matters, and litigation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external lawyers on specialist areas, such as energy, environmental, and financial regulations.
  • Develop and implement new templates and internal procedures, and provide legal training to the organization.
  • Manage the legal budget and external legal advisors, and control external spend.
Requirements
  • A qualified solicitor/barrister in the UK, with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in a regional, national, or international commercial law firm and/or in an in-house legal team.
  • A minimum of a 2:1 in a bachelor's degree, with good accompanying academic records prior to this.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate a range of commercial contracts.
  • The confidence to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage a high workload, with the resilience to work under pressure in a fast-changing commercial environment.
