Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Substance Use Team as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing expert care to individuals with complex substance use needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Practice as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for substance use within Forensic Services, utilizing evidence-based and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
  • Lead the development and delivery of training packages for Secure Services staff, providing input into their delivery alongside other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of substance use interventions, utilizing advanced clinical skills and knowledge in evidence-based interventions.
  • Provide clinical leadership for staff through management supervision and training, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
  • Work closely with third sector organizations, such as Narcotics Anonymous, to deliver joint interventions and promote recovery-based models.

Requirements
  • Registered nurse: RMN/RGN
  • Experience of working with individuals diagnosed with a SMI and personality disorder
  • Good knowledge of recovery-based models within drug/alcohol use
  • Excellent knowledge of drug/alcohol treatment systems that make up an integrated recovery model
