We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at GSK, a global healthcare company committed to discovering and delivering transformational vaccines and medicines. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and testing new end-to-end data flows and creating data products in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, test, and deploy cloud native processing nodes, including parameter harmonization for hybrid cloud pipelines.
- Contribute to the development of design patterns for our processing node framework and microservices supporting those.
- Design and develop cloud native workflows for high-throughput biology and chemistry from instrument to analysis-ready data under 12 hours.
- Harmonize processing nodes, workflows, and microservices to leverage the processing node framework to its fullest extent.
- Exercise judgment and perform evaluations of external packages, pipeline orchestration tools, and microservices to accelerate development of end-to-end data pipelines.
- Proven track record of excellent coding and software development within high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong software development record in Python or another common programming language, with a focus on best practices and clean, readable code.
- Experience in collaborative coding and shipping products.
- Prior cloud development experience, including knowledge of k8s and GitOps processes.
- Background knowledge in life science and tools around high-throughput data analysis.
- Background in biomedical data processing, especially in flow cytometry, proteomics, or imaging.
- Experience in GenAI and AI/ML using TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or Scikit-learn.
- Experience in building products with modern cloud architectures, platforms, and back-end systems.
