We are seeking a skilled Principal Water Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in London. As a key member of our water solutions team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of Southern Water's £3.7 billion capital delivery programme. Your primary responsibilities will include leading the design of process equipment, generating and reviewing essential engineering documents, creating technical specifications, making key decisions, participating in safety reviews, and preparing critical documents to ensure process safety throughout all project stages.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry/Biological Science, be Chartered (or demonstrate learning and development on course to achieve chartered status), and possess experience in the water industry. You will also have strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance and contribute to the successful delivery of each project.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with top-tier civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to deliver a variety of captivating projects from concept to completion. About the Role:
- Design and develop process equipment to meet client needs.
- Generate and review essential engineering documents such as PFDs, P&IDs, and Mass/Energy balances.
- Create technical specifications that are clear, precise, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
- Making key decisions and troubleshooting process issues to ensure smooth project execution.
- Participate in safety reviews, including HAZOP and HAZID assessments.
- Prepare critical documents such as Hazardous Area Classification and Layer of Protection Analysis (LoPA).
- Leverage your in-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance.
