​The Scouts Association is seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety strategy for scouting activities across the UK.

​As the Head of UK Safety Transformation, you will be responsible for driving a culture of safety throughout the organisation, working closely with senior volunteers and embedding the safety strategy across all scouting activities.

​Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and guidance to ensure the safe provision of scouting activities
  • Providing a high-quality advisory service to the movement and to Scouts' managers on safety matters
  • Representing The Scouts Association externally on matters of safety, including liaison with families, courts, and external regulatory bodies
  • Collaborating with the HQ safety team to enhance the work being undertaken in respect of safety policy development, training, advice, and services to volunteer Scout Leaders across the UK

​The ideal candidate will have a Chartered Member of IOSH qualification, extensive experience in creating, rolling out, and driving positive strategy to improve health and safety, and excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging colleagues, volunteers, and staff.
