Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Designer to join our team at Hunter Mason Consulting Ltd. As a Principal Designer, you will play a key role in leading our building surveyor team and providing expert advice on construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Administration: You will be responsible for administering contracts and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Building Surveys and Reports: You will conduct thorough building surveys and prepare detailed reports to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
- Schedule and Plan Preventative Maintenance Programmes: You will develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes to ensure the longevity and efficiency of our clients' buildings.
- Advice on Appointing Contractors, Designers, and Procurement Routes: You will provide expert advice on the appointment of contractors, designers, and procurement routes to ensure that our clients receive the best possible service.
- Preparing Scheme Designs, Specifications, and Schedules of Dilapidations: You will prepare detailed scheme designs, specifications, and schedules of dilapidations to ensure that our clients' buildings are maintained to the highest standards.
- Advice on Conservation of Historic Buildings: You will provide expert advice on the conservation of historic buildings to ensure that our clients' heritage assets are preserved for future generations.
- Ensuring Health and Safety Regulations are Adhered to: You will ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to on our construction projects to ensure the safety of our clients, staff, and contractors.
Requirements:
- MRICS: You must hold a valid MRICS qualification.
- 3 Years Building Surveyor Experience: You must have at least 3 years of experience as a building surveyor.
- Contract Administration Experience: You must have experience in contract administration.
- Knowledge of CDM2015: You must have a thorough understanding of CDM2015 regulations.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and ArchiCAD: You must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and ArchiCAD software.
- Strong Written and Spoken Communication Skills: You must have excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to Build and Maintain Client Relationships: You must be able to build and maintain strong relationships with our clients.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and Building Regulations: You must have a thorough understanding of health and safety and building regulations.
- Cost Management Skills: You must have excellent cost management skills.
- Friendly and Approachable: You must be a friendly and approachable individual who is able to work effectively with our clients and staff.
- Full Driving License: You must hold a full driving license.
