Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Gold Group is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team, working on significant projects with Network Rail and regional train operators across the North of the UK.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial and contractual aspects of rail infrastructure projects. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in delivering pre and post-contract commercial services, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pre-contract duties including cost estimating, procurement, and contract negotiation.
  • Manage post-contract activities such as valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Provide accurate cost management and forecasting to ensure project budgets are maintained.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and delivery.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports to clients, advising on commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to their professional development.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the rail or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of pre and post-contract commercial duties.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar.
  • Professional membership with RICS or CIOB is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as required.
