Job Overview

CBSbutler is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineering Consultant to join our team in Aerospace, Defence, and Security. As a Senior Systems Engineering Consultant, you will work with our clients to analyze, assess, and develop solutions to their most complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert consultancy to client project and engineering managers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead the use of best practice techniques and tools on client and internal projects to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Champion a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to solving client issues and drive business growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve successful client decision milestones and deliver identified engineering outputs within time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for business growth and contribute to the development of our people through mentoring and coaching.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in the use of MBSE approaches and tools, including Sparx EA and Cameo.
  • Knowledge of modelling languages and architecture frameworks, such as UML/SysML, ArchiMate, TOGAF, and MODAF.
  • Requirements engineering and its link to verification and validation.
  • Knowledge of engineering lifecycles, their selection, tailoring, and implementation.
  • Experience working on the integration of complex systems, including military and civilian platforms, and advanced power and energy systems.
  • Applying systems engineering processes, such as ISO 15288:2023, across the lifecycle.
  • Managing projects and teams within different development methods.
  • Understanding of engineering within the MOD's acquisition framework, Knowledge in Defence (KiD).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Ability to understand, simplify, and explain subject matter to non-engineers and senior stakeholders.
