About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Pension Scheme Implementation Manager. This is a key role within our Transition team, responsible for managing the end-to-end scheme implementation and on-boarding of a portfolio of new Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the complete scheme implementation process, including data verification, benefit costing, and administration process setup.
  • Support the PRT Business Development team in maximising new and existing business opportunities, including tender preparation, site visits, and project documentation.
  • Develop and lead on the development of 'scheme specific' transition plans for a portfolio of transactions, providing these to Trustees, their advisers, and all interested parties.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in PRT to establish and control the most efficient way to transition each scheme.
  • Collaborate with trustees, brokers, and administrators to agree a timescale and process for verifying data to ensure accurate benefit costing and legal liabilities.
  • Undertake Post Implementation Reviews for each scheme and meet with or report to Trustees, their advisers, and administrators as required.
Requirements
  • Pension Qualification: Preferably holding or working towards PMI.
  • Prince 2 Practitioner (desirable)
  • Demonstrable experience in administering and on-boarding Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes.
  • Knowledge of pension regulations for DB schemes, including wind-up requirements and interaction with PPF and FAS.
  • Understanding of buy-out, buy-in, and longevity insurance and reinsurance products and propositions.
  • Deep understanding of systems and processes required to meet annuity commitments.
  • Knowledge of current challenges and opportunities in the Pension Risk Transfer market.
  • Ability to keep up to date with legislative changes and understand the legal framework around de-risking and buy-in/buy-out contracts.
  • Strong organisational and change management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritise and work independently.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft products, especially Excel.
