We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our dynamic and collaborative research group at the Personalised Medicine Centre (PMC), School of Medicine, Altnagelvin Area Hospital, Derry~Londonderry.
About the Role
This fixed-term position is part of the AICRIstart programme, a foundation stone for the All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI). The programme aims to build critical mass in precision cancer medicine on the island of Ireland. As a key member of our team, you will work on a collaborative project investigating host-microbe interaction in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL).
Job Purpose
- The post holder will contribute to the investigation of early signs of immune deterioration in the microbiome, which may be leveraged to identify at-risk patients who will benefit from early intervention.
- You will become an integral member of our research group, valuing research excellence, translational impact, and a vibrant research culture.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will require a strong background in a relevant field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. You should also have a proven track record of producing high-quality research outputs and a keen interest in precision medicine.
Working Arrangements
The post is based at the PMC, with regular travel/periods of work at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Coleraine campus. This position requires flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

As a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Ulster University, you will have access to cutting-edge facilities, a supportive research community, and opportunities for professional development. We offer a competitive salary, within the range £31,414 - £34,998 per annum, depending on experience.
Please note that due to UKVI minimum salary thresholds, this post does not qualify for university sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.
