Production Line Supervisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Production Line Supervisor to join our team at eastgrinsteadcourier. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines, ensuring high-quality products, and meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform start-up checks online to ensure equipment and processes are ready for production.
- Communicate with OS chiller and machine operators to keep them informed about job priorities and updates.
- Prepare and efficiently set up the production line for smooth operation.
- Collect packaging and labels from the packaging store and ensure Quality Control checks all labels and packaging before starting the line.
- Verify the correct variety and job number are present in the Wet area for the job at hand.
- Instruct packers and line hygiene staff on upcoming jobs, providing clear directions as needed.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring records are up to date.
- Monitor the production sheet for updates and order extra materials as needed, ensuring Quality Control checks them before use.
- Ensure Quality Control checks all extra bags and flow wrap samples before they are used in production.
- Remove all packaging from the line after each job and return it to the packaging department, ensuring the line is clean and ready for the next task.
- Update job status on the production sheet according to SOPs and ensure all details are recorded.
- Report to the Packhouse Manager once all orders are completed.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor team performance and production efficiency.
- Ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time, with legible and fully completed paperwork.
- Ensure staff and packaging comply with hygiene regulations at all times.
- Prepare and submit various reports, including audit reports, profit and loss reports, downtime reports, external and internal rejection reports, and overtime and ETI reports.
Requirements:
- Strong enthusiasm, self-confidence, and self-motivation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Flexible and proactive approach to tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially in documentation and compliance.
Working Hours:
- 12 hour shift
- Every weekend
- Overtime
