Job Title: Study Skills Support Specialist

Randstad Student Support is seeking a highly skilled Study Skills Support Specialist to work with autistic students studying at Universities and/or Colleges in Bolton.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity is a hybrid role, requiring the ability to travel to the local University or college in the Bolton area and offer both in-person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide learning support and academic guidance to students, including creating individual learning plans tailored to their needs.
  • Support students to develop independence, build on strengths and learning strategies, and create strategies around organisation and time management.
  • Help students to create action plans to stay on track with their studies and build on research skills, including widening knowledge by using a variety of sources.
  • Assist students in distinguishing appropriate sources and correctly using references.
  • Support students to build on comprehension skills within reading and writing.
Requirements:

Candidates must be qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 as minimum), have a teaching qualification, and have taken extensive training in adult autism.

The extensive training may include the National Autistic Society Modules (non-medical helper package) or the Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education.
