About the Role

The Chair of the Financial Reporting Advisory Board (FRAB) plays a crucial role in shaping the quality of public sector reporting and increasing accountability. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of chairing or leading at a senior level, with strong professional grounding within the accounting and finance profession.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the FRAB to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging contributions from all members
  • Ensuring the FRAB fulfils its remit in accordance with legislation and its Terms of Reference
  • Maintaining and building the FRAB's credibility in providing independent advice on financial reporting principles and standards
  • Ensuring the strength and calibre of the FRAB through effective review of its performance and succession planning
  • Building excellent relationships with relevant standard setting bodies

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven leadership capability at a senior level
  • Evidence of strong professional grounding within the accounting and finance profession
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the views of others effectively
  • Qualification as a chartered accountant (CCAB or equivalent), with strong International Financial Reporting Standards knowledge

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and flexible working arrangements.
