Job Title: Asset Performance Analyst
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Performance Analyst to join our team at Eaglecliff Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our fleet, through analyzing voyage data, assessing performance, and negotiating performance claims with counterparties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze voyage data, including fuel consumption, speed, and other relevant metrics to assess overall vessel performance.
- Contract Review and Negotiation: Review, interpret, and apply contract clauses to heighten Statements of Account and vessel performance claims.
- Performance Optimization: Evaluate vessel performance against predefined criteria, such as fuel efficiency, voyage duration, and emissions, produce actual and/or optimized vessel performance criteria.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify deviations from expected performance and recommend corrective actions, review and investigate fuel consumption, execute comparison of sister vessels, hull fouling management.
- Claim Resolution: Resolve claims and disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with chartering and operations teams, providing expert advice on vessel performance-related matters, identifying issues, and proposing solutions.
- Information Delivery: Deliver timely and accurate information to the Operations and trading desk, and reconcile vessel performance against the contract and ship valuation.
- Process Automation: Support the automation of the S&C claims to Owners process.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Hold a degree or completed apprenticeship, background in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture, preferably with relevant experience.
- Technical Skills: Prior experience of creating and defending vessel speed and consumption claims essential, knowledge of vessel operations, propulsion systems, and maritime technology.
- Soft Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to identify performance trends and anomalies, willingness to work in a demanding environment, comfortable working to tight timescales and managing conflicting priorities.
- Communication and Presentation: Confident decision-making and ability to present and defend arguments clearly, confident manipulating numerical data, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Data Analysis Tools: Proficiency in data analysis tools.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Vessel Management Systems: Experience using Veson IMOS.
- Database Management: Experience creating and using databases/Microsoft Access.
- Charter Party and Claims Handling: Familiarity with charter parties, charter party claims handling, or marine insurance is also desirable.
