Overview

Nationwide Platforms, a leading provider of Powered Access rental equipment, is seeking an experienced Repair Engineer to join its engineering team at the West London Depot.

Salary

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary, estimated around £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as additional benefits and perks.

About the Role

This challenging position involves carrying out major repairs and refurbishments to access platforms, ensuring they meet company and legislative standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Workshop Service Manager to maintain manageable levels of machines under repair, undertake routine and complex repairs, and provide excellent customer care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the effective running of the Depot workshop, maintaining KPIs at manageable levels.
  • Undertake routine and complex repairs to machines, adhering to manufacturer specifications and company policy.
  • Work collaboratively with the depot team to minimize machine downtime and ensure conformance with depot KPIs.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, providing a high standard of customer care and politeness at all times.
  • Acknowledge and relay relevant customer queries to depot staff as necessary.
  • Complete accurate paperwork using Company's engineering system/application.
  • Update system records regarding machine status changes, including PDI/PHI, Machine under repair, 6 monthly statutory inspection, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Health & Safety standards and policies.

Requirements

  • IPAF Operator Licence.
  • Relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience in completing complex engineering repairs.
  • Mature outlook, prioritization skills, and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service understanding.
  • Knowledge of diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics, and diagnostics fault finding.
  • Basic functions proficiency in operating system (L-Vis) and basic company administration processes.
