The Opportunity

Recruit Build is seeking a Senior Design Manager to join its major projects division, specializing in large residential developments, including student accommodation schemes and BTR developments.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on large design & build projects with a main contractor and possess strong leadership skills to manage the design management of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Design Management of the project
  • Manage the flow of design information, conduct design-gap reviews, and develop value engineering proposals
  • Work with project teams, clients, designers, and subcontractors to ensure optimal design solutions
  • Deliver a design and sequence that can be delivered safely and maximizes profit opportunities
  • Design gap analysis
  • Consultant appointments, including scope of services and matrix of responsibilities
  • Attend and chair Design Team Meetings to ensure timely flow and release of quality information
  • Produce technical information for company pre-qualification presentations
  • Train and coach on-site management in design management techniques
  • Attend meetings as required at the site and area offices

The role comes with a competitive salary up to £85,000, car allowance, and an extensive benefits package, along with excellent career potential.
