We are seeking a seasoned Nutrition Scientist to join our team at Oxitec, a pioneering company dedicated to developing innovative biological technologies that protect human health and the global food supply.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing novel and bespoke diets for artificial tick rearing, working under the guidance of a Team Lead. Your primary focus will be on designing, performing, and analysing experiments to steer research and support decision-making by providing expertise on insect diet and nutrition as well as the underlying biochemistry.

Key responsibilities will include utilising your nutritional/biochemistry expertise to solve complex entomology challenges, preparing project plans, and providing clear communication regarding outcomes of processes and experiments with the Team Lead and wider project stakeholders.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a dynamic project dedicated to the research and development of our self-limiting technology in haematophagous insects, and you will be a key contributor to the team's success.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual with a strong track record of scientific diligence, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a passion for Oxitec's mission and values.

The ideal candidate will have an MSc or PhD in a relevant discipline or associated industry experience, with experience in developing nutritionally complete diets for animals or insects and experience with animal husbandry and/or colonies of invertebrates.

As a team player, you will believe that the success of us all depends on us working together, and you will be comfortable working independently and within a team, adaptable and flexible, thriving and being resilient in an environment of change and ambiguity.
