Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Muirton Ward, a standalone unit specialising in supporting individuals with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.

This is a unique opportunity for an individual who is keen to work in an environment that values high standards and adaptability. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to develop their skills and experience working in acute admission or older adult services.

The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work flexibly in a rotational shift system to maintain continuity and meet the needs of the service. We offer comprehensive training and support to ensure that our nurses have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide high-quality nursing care to patients on Muirton Ward, adhering to NHS Scotland's values and standards.
  • To work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, using clinical software to document care plans and interventions.
Requirements
  • Degree in Nursing (Adult/Mental Health) or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
