Job Description: As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in our alternative provision in Bury.

The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children or young people with SEMH needs or PTSD, and experience working with students aged 11-16.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to children with SEN in achieving their academic and personal goals
  • Develop strong relationships with students, addressing their social and behavioural needs
  • Create a supportive learning environment that fosters student growth and development
  • Mentor students and provide guidance on social and emotional skills

Requirements:

  • Pyschology (BA Hons) degree
  • Enhanced DBS (clean and relevant), obtainable through Prospero Teaching
  • Safeguarding, prevent awareness & FGM training essential
  • Behaviour management training desirable
  • Committed and enthusiastic attitude to work
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to form new relationships
  • Previous experience working with young people
  • Good knowledge of SEMH needs

Estimated Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annum (£100 per day minimum rate)
