We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at We Do Group. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for managing the financial performance of our group, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to our leadership team.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Produce monthly group management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary, to provide a clear picture of our financial performance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Work closely with our Finance Director and other executives to develop and manage budgets and forecasts for all entities within the group.
- Financial Management: Oversee the financial management of two trading entities, including the preparation of budgets, production of monthly management accounts, commission calculations for payroll, and management of cash flow.
- Grant Management: Track and report all expenditure in respect of grants received and present these to the project board.
- Student Finance: Oversee processes and reconciliations in respect of student numbers and student finance.
- Audit and Compliance: Manage the detailed audit process, ensuring all audit deliverables are both timely and accurate.
- Statutory Accounts: Produce statutory accounts for a number of non-group entities.
- Contract Management: Maintain a contract register for the group and review all new contracts prior to signature by the CEO.
- VAT and Tax: Responsibility for VAT returns, including the VAT group return.
- Financial Modelling: Develop financial models of new initiatives to support business growth.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Support the Finance Director and other executives with ad-hoc analysis and tasks.
- Team Management: Assist with overseeing and supporting the finance team as appropriate.
- Strategic Relationships: Maintain and build a number of strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
- Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CA)
- Experience: Prior experience working as a Financial Controller or in group finance roles in a management capacity
- Skills: Hands-on mentality, technical strength, and ability to partner with internal stakeholders
