Bespoke Classic Car Projects - Mechanical Design Engineer

We are collaborating with specialists in bespoke classic and vintage car projects to appoint an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering background from other industry sectors, such as aerospace, rail, or marine, with exposure to complex components and engineering systems.

The role involves working on bespoke and custom engineering projects for the restoration and manufacturing of classic car parts, components, and assemblies/fixings. Project work may include mechanical systems layout, replacement clutches, drive trains, gearboxes, and other complex components.

The preferred design package used is Solidworks, but candidates with other 3D CAD packages, such as Inventor or NX, may be considered if they have significant engineering or automotive experience.

The business is open to candidates with mid-level to senior engineering experience and is based full-time on their Waterlooville site, with a standard working hours of 7.30 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop bespoke and custom engineering projects for classic car restoration and manufacturing
  • Work with specialists in bespoke classic and vintage car projects to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and records

Requirements:

  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with 3D CAD packages, such as Solidworks, Inventor, or NX
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, complex components, and engineering principles
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
