Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Materials and Analytical Support Scientist to join our team at AWE Plc. This role will involve working with hazardous materials, managing laboratory activities, and providing analytical testing and report writing services.

About the Role

This position is based in RG7 4PR, a location that offers easy access to Reading and Basingstoke, along with free onsite parking. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine analytical testing, calibration, and laboratory maintenance, as well as hands-on work with explosives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experience working in laboratories and understanding of working with hazardous materials
  • Managing laboratories and/or facilities
  • Good Laboratory Practices and experience of working in a quality led environment
  • Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work (e.g. Operating Instructions, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Manual Handling Assessments)
  • Experience in/knowledge of a range of characterisation techniques e.g. GPC, HPLC, wet chemistry methods and DSC, TGA
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

What We Offer
