Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Airport Operational Engineer to join our team at Inverness Airport. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of critical Air Traffic Control systems and equipment across the Highlands and Islands Airports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize and manage faults to ensure a safe and expeditious restoration of service.
  • Supervise Airport Maintenance Engineers and contractors, and fully brief ATC and other engineering staff.
  • Maintain own Competency Ratings and ensure any concerns are reported to the Engineering Manager.
  • Work on a variety of equipment and interfaces across the HIAL airports.
Requirements:
  • Engineering qualification to Higher National Certificate (NVQ Level 4) as a minimum in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science and relevant experience.
  • ATSEP training (advantageous).
  • Commercial awareness to appreciate the impact of a facility failure on our customers and dependencies on ATM engineering systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence - Will be required to drive airside & maintain an airside driving permit.
