Job Title: Safety Manager - Utilities Sector

Company Overview: A leading utility company in the M25 area is seeking a seasoned Safety Manager to oversee health and safety practices across various sites. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded safety professional to join a market leader.

Salary: The successful candidate can expect a salary ranging from £48,000 to £60,000 per annum, complemented by a range of benefits.

About the Role:

  • Develop and maintain effective Health and Safety (H&S) systems for each site, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.\
  • Provide expert guidance and advice on SHE management systems to site teams, promoting adherence to Group SHE standards within contracts and supply chains.\
  • Conduct regular site inspections and attend Site Review Meetings to identify areas for improvement and ensure best practices are implemented.\
  • Collaborate with the SHEQ Team to support the development and implementation of SHE processes and procedures.\
  • Maintain knowledge on current SHE Legislation, Best Practices, and developments related to our business activities.\
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall SHE performance.\
  • Undertake liaison with enforcing SHE authorities and facilitate contractor/supply chain assessments as required.\
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies impacting H&S practices and recommend adjustments to strategies accordingly.\
  • Support the preparation and dissemination of SHE Alerts/Bulletins and Posters to promote awareness among employees and stakeholders.\
  • Promote Employee Wellness Programmes to foster a culture of well-being within the organization.\
  • Award Length of Service Awards to recognize and reward dedicated employees' contributions.\
  • Enhance Pension Schemes to provide secure financial futures for team members.\
  • Offer Company Vehicles to support mobile working requirements.\
  • Deliver Continuous Training and Development opportunities to upskill employees and improve overall performance.\
  • Manage SHE Risks, Issues, and Opportunities through proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies.\
  • Cultivate Strong Stakeholder Relationships to foster collaboration and trust with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.\
  • Facilitate Knowledge Sharing between teams and departments to leverage collective expertise and drive innovation.\
  • Drive Business Growth through strategic partnerships and collaborative efforts with key stakeholders.\
  • Promote Environmental Sustainability through responsible resource management and eco-friendly practices.\\

Required Skills and Qualifications: A good understanding of SHEQ legislation and industry standards related to the P&T sector is essential. Relevant qualification or experience in this sector is necessary.
