We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Security Officer to join our team at HMP Five Wells. As a key member of our security team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective security of our prison.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure authorized access to the establishment for staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Control pedestrian and vehicle access points safely and securely.
- Maintain accurate records of prisoner property and ensure secure storage of sensitive equipment.
- Provide escort duties for contractor vehicles and social and legal visitors.
- Monitor CCTV systems and respond to alarms and incidents.
- Carry out searches of incoming prisoner property and accurately record prisoner property.
- Supervise and task prisoners employed within the property stores.
- Handle incoming and outgoing prisoner and official mail.
- Respond to queries regarding prisoner property and provide support to other team members.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work seamlessly with other team members.
- Flexibility and adaptability to deal with ever-changing scenarios within the prison.
- IT literacy and comfort with Windows-based and Google operating systems.
- Competence in using database and spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel and Google Sheets.
- Competence in using word processing applications such as MS Word and Google Docs.
- Polite and mindful of the needs of all who may be interacted with.
