The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and inspirational tutor to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Manchester. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for pupils who have struggled to engage with their learning, and to help them bridge gaps in their education.

As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you will work closely with Prospero Teaching to create and deliver tailored lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each pupil. Your aim will be to re-engage pupils in their learning, provide structure and routine, and support their educational development.

The tuition will take place during school hours, five days a week, and will be part-time, with a minimum of 10 hours per week per student. You will be required to submit weekly reports to monitor the progression of each pupil.

Contract Details
  • Location: Various locations across Manchester
  • Position: SEND Specialist Tutor

  • Duration: Until the pupil is able to reintegrate into a mainstream/special school

Requirements
  • QTS or equivalent
  • UK classroom teaching experience
  • PECS/Makaton training preferred but not essential
  • Ability to think creatively and work with challenging behaviour
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Two professional child-related references
