Job Title: Senior Electrical Electronic Engineer

AWE plc is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Electronic Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for engineers looking to apply their Electrical/Electronic skills to challenging system integration, safety, security, or nuclear projects.

As a Senior Electrical Electronic Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, integration, and testing of electronic/electrical systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet safety and performance requirements across AWE programmes and the full engineering lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving technical delivery, performance, and continuous improvement with a consideration for quality, time, and cost. They will also have strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication and people management skills.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the design, integration, and testing of electronic/electrical systems
  • Delivering engineering solutions that meet safety and performance requirements
  • Planning and executing tasks to deliver agreed objectives to time, requirements, quality, and cost
  • Identifying and supporting opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and business improvement
  • Maintaining and promoting high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality

Requirements:
  • HNC/HND or degree qualification in a science or engineering discipline or proven experience working in a similar environment
  • Ability to integrate and work well in a team and support or take the technical lead in projects
  • Degree qualification or NVQ Level 5 or experience in a science or engineering discipline
  • Proven track record of driving technical delivery, performance, and continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and people management skills

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role and be willing and able to travel within the UK and overseas if required.
