Design Coordinator Mid High Rise Buildings

We are looking for a skilled Design Coordinator to support our mid/high rise building projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that designs are aligned with project specifications and are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the design process, ensuring timely delivery of designs that meet project specifications.
  2. Liaise with stakeholders, including the design team, client, and construction team, to facilitate effective communication and ensure all parties are informed of project progress and changes.
  3. Verify that designs comply with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards, including reviews of design documents for compliance with statutory requirements, local building codes, and company guidelines.
  4. Monitor the project for potential design risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or budget overruns.
  5. Collaborate with the commercial and construction teams to align the design with financial constraints, incorporating value engineering techniques to enhance cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
  6. Create and maintain the design programme, ensuring milestones are achieved to facilitate smooth construction progression.
  7. Manage design changes during the construction phase, assessing their impact on time, cost, and quality, and communicating these changes to relevant parties.
  8. Develop quality control processes to guarantee that design outputs align with the original project intent and meet required standards of workmanship.

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience as a Design Manager for Main Contractors.
  • Thorough understanding of building regulations, safety standards (e.g., CDM regulations), and sustainability practices (BREEAM, LEED).
  • Proven ability to manage design teams, deliver projects on time and within budget, and coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • Essential residential project experience.
